Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't written in a long long time. Since October we have been doing lots of activities including finishing our third year of Aussie school! Dad and I went on a 7 day trip to Sydney for a Rural Flying Doctors Service course. We also spent 4 nights up in the beautiful Blue mountain with is a massive NP and hour and a half away from Sydney. We did lots of hiking and ate great food. I sat in on most of the course which focused on aviation and medical issues so it was very interesting. They also provided amazing meals and snacks! We stayed in the MGSM which is a business hotel on the Macquarie University campus. It was a great trip!
Then we finished off term four and started our 7 week summer vacation. The first weekend Dad, Aidan, Owen and I went on a boys camping trip to Brunswick Heads in northern NSW. It is our favorite place in Australia with great beaches, food and camping whats not to like? I also went tubing and sand boarding with some mates out a Moreton Island. On of the 5 sand islands of this kind in the world! Another highlight of vacation was deep sea fishing. We went out (Dad Aidan and I) with four other friends and 8 others. We fished off of Moreton Island about 5-12 miles off the shore! In water ranging from 35-110 meters deep. We caught some nice big fish but we also caught some nasty sea sickness. Dad barely wet a line along with 4 others! I hurled twice but then felt fine! The swell was between 5-10ft which is pretty big when your in a 47ft boat! Like the captain said " Mate we are a small boat in the big ocean" seems about right... Anyway Aidan and Mark were the only ones not puking there brains out! For Aidan and I it was a good day. For Dad it was a $230 ticket to barf land!!!
We also spent 3 nights at a major national park called
Lamington NP. Which is 2 hours south west of Brisbane. It has great
hikes and Eco lodges to stay in. We rented a house there which was
perfect. It had a hot tube on the balcony which everyone loved and it
felt good after a big hike. One of the days we did a 14km round trip
rainforest hike! It was really awesome the trail was pretty muddy and we
got lots of leaches! Cate counted 57! It was one of the best thing we did all summer as a family!
I'm currently 17,000 miles from my homeland on an island in the Pacific. The largest island and only island
continent in the world except for Antarctica which know no one lives on, in a place called the Cleveland library... a nice library nice books and computers and I'm sending this message from here because Mom wanted me and Aidan out of the house! Until next time keep in Classy Cleveland NKDU (nolankidsdownunder) over and out.... URGENT: pictures to come I couldn't access pictures from library computers:)
